Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The journal supports the responsible, ethical and transparent use of AI technologies in academic work. AI tools should serve only as an auxiliary means to enhance the quality of academic texts.

This policy forms part of the journal’s editorial framework and is aligned with the recommendations of COPE and WAME, as well as the standards of leading international publishers.

Authors are permitted to use AI as an auxiliary tool for: language correction and improving text readability, translating materials, technical formatting and structuring of the manuscript, as well as additional analysis of their own data – provided that the results obtained are subject to mandatory verification.

However, the use of artificial intelligence tools does not relieve authors of responsibility for the content of the publication.

The use of AI is prohibited in the following cases:

  • generating or substituting scientific content – results, conclusions, interpretations;
  • creating or falsifying research data;
  • fabricating fictitious sources, quotations or references;
  • covert paraphrasing of others’ work with the intention of avoiding detection of plagiarism;
  • presenting AI-generated material as the result of one’s own original research.

If AI is used beyond its basic technical functions, authors are required to specify the name of the tool used, the purpose of its application, the sections of the manuscript where AI was employed, and confirmation that the results obtained have been reviewed, edited and verified by the authors.

This information must be presented as a separate declaration on the use of AI and is usually placed before the reference list or in the relevant methodological section of the manuscript.

Failure to provide information on the use of artificial intelligence may constitute a breach of publication ethics.

The editorial team’s use of AI is limited to technical tasks. Reviewers may also use AI only for auxiliary tasks, such as refining the language of their own reports.

In the event of improper or undisclosed use of AI, the editorial board reserves the right to request clarification from the authors, arrange for additional peer review, reject the manuscript, or retract an already published article.
