Peer-review process
The scientific articles submitted to the journal «Humanitarian studies: history and pedagogy» undergo a review process (with the provision of the anonymity of the reviewer).
The reviewer's questionnaire highlights the following questions:
- The presence of a conflictual interest in the reviewer?
- The originality of the text?
- Does the title of the article correspond to the content?
- Does the summary of the article reflect?
- The structure of the article (the presence of an introduction, chapters, conclusion, applications)
- The relevance of the article is disclosed in sufficient quantity?
- Is the connection between the problem posed in the article and the important scientific or practical tasks justified?
- Are the article goals relevant to the problem that the author considers?
- Are the findings based on theoretical analysis and / or experimental results?
- Is sufficient justification of the received scientific results?
- The following conclusions are consistent with the content of the article?
- An analysis of the prospects for further research in the article is marked by a scientific style?
- Compliance with the rules of style
- Compliance with grammar rules.
The submitted articles are reviewed by the reviewer within 3 weeks.
The reviewer reserves the right to reject an article that does not meet the requirements, or the subject matter of the publication.
An article, not recommended by the reviewer prior to publication, is not accepted until reconsideration.
The presence of a positive review is not sufficient reason for the publication of the article.
Public Ethics
The editorial board of the journal «Humanitarian studies: history and pedagogy» believes that the ethical aspects of the publication are an important part of the editorial work and is responsible for observance of ethical standards when publishing articles on the basis of the Code of academic integrity.
Edition of the journal:
- is responsible for making decisions which of the articles submitted to the journal can be published;
- strives to meet the needs of readers and authors of scientific articles;
- constantly improves the quality of the journal;
- ensures the quality of the material being published;
- provides openness in reflecting the scientific issues of researchers from Ukraine and other countries.
The main factors influencing the decision of the edition of the journal on the publication of the article is the verification of materials on the originality, relevance of the topic and its importance for researchers and readers.
The authors of the materials are fully responsible for the accuracy of the information contained in them, as well as for the compliance of the materials with the norms of law, morality and ethics.
The editorial office is not responsible for the professional content and methodological correctness of published materials, as well as for the correctness of links to Internet resources and literary sources contained in the text of the article.
In case of the correspondence of the given materials with the purpose, tasks and editorial policy of the journal, the editorial staff publishes the articles, usually in the author's wording, otherwise the material is rejected.
Authors of scientific articles are obliged:
- be responsible for the authenticity of the facts, their own names, photocopies, other information and the general meaning of the article;
- eliminate all the shortcomings of a scientific article (in the presence of comments from the reviewer);
- Do not submit an article to a publication that describes essentially the same study, in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting an article to more than one magazine at the same time is considered unethical behavior and is unacceptable;
- not to submit previously published articles to other magazines;
- to ensure the originality of the content of the article, which does not contain borrowings, without the corresponding reference, or preliminary agreement;
- submit articles that do not contain materials that are not subject to publication in the open press, in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine, and its publication will not lead to the disclosure of restricted information (confidential information, state secrets);
- Submit citations to the work of other authors;
- to ensure that the names of all co-authors of a scientific article are indicated in the text of the article, and no one who is not a co-author, is not included in them, and that all co-authors of the scientific article have become acquainted with the final version of it, have approved it and have given their consent to publication.
The scientific article should meet the requirements for the design of articles in the journal of scientific works «Humanitarian studies: history and pedagogy».
The edition of the journal publishes the rules for submitting articles, which are regularly updated on the journal site.
The edition of the journal does not change the decision on the accepted materials, if there is no serious justification for this.
The fee for published articles is not paid.
Plagiarism policy
The journal of scientific works «Humanitarian studies: history and pedagogy» accepts only original materials, articles that have not been published before and were not submitted for publication in other magazines.
The journal of scientific works uses the software to detect text borrowings in the submitted manuscripts: Unicheck. Manuscripts that detected plagiarism or text borrowing without reference to the original source are rejected by the editorial board before the publication of the article in the journal.
The editorial board of the journal of scientific works analyzes any case of plagiarism in essence. If plagiarism or text borrowing is detected by editors or reviewers at any stage before the publication of the manuscript, the author (s) warn of the need to rewrite the text or make a reference to the original.
The percentage of plagiarism is calculated by software, and is evaluated by the editorial board.
If after the publication a plagiarism is discovered, the editorial board conducts an analysis of this fact. If a plagiarism is found, the magazine editor will contact the author. Pages that contain plagiarism will be flagged in a PDF. Depending on the scale of the plagiarism, the document may also be withdrawn (deleted).
Recommendations for avoiding plagiarism:
- Use the legs for information taken verbatim from the source;
- Do not change parts of the quote in the context of the sentence;
- use three dots (space and three dots) for a part of the omitted quotation;
- use parentheses for added own words;
- Restrict the use of direct quotations.
